This GoHighLevel review is going to show you the best and fastest way to get up and going on GoHighLevel in less than 30 minutes!
If you haven’t heard of GoHighLevel yet, it’s the all-in-one software that I use to replace every single piece of software in my agency. I saved over a thousand dollars a month by switching to this platform. Also, it’s super easy to make thousands of dollars for your clients without ad spend by doing reactivation campaigns, which I talk about more here.
If you don’t already have an account, sign up using this link and I‘ll send you an entire free course on GoHighLevel and a snapshot that you can use to get up and going even faster. You can also get a free 14 day trial using that link.
GoHighLevel Pricing
The Starter Plan
The starter plan pricing is $97 a month and you get all the features that come with the Agency Plan except you don’t get the white label and you also don’t have unlimited accounts available.
So the starter plan is really for an agency who doesn’t have any clients or they just kind of want to get their feet wet and get started.
Or maybe they want funnel hosting or website hosting and they don’t have a lot of clients.
The freelancer plan
This used to be called the Agency Plan. It’s $297 a month, but you get unlimited users and unlimited accounts.
So if you have 100 clients, it doesn’t cost more money! The value here is going to replace everything you’ve used before.
You also get the white label option as part of this plan, memberships, the funnels, the unlimited website hosting API access, chat support, phone support.
They also have a partner program which we’re part of and it’s amazing.
They have an annual plan now which means that if you sign up annually, you get two months free! So that averages out to $248 a month!
The Agency Pro Plan
With this plan, GoHighLevel rolled out the SaaS plan which basically lets you resell HighLevel out of the box. It’s $497/month for unlimited accounts and the features below.
They’ve also launched agent reporting along with all these features:
- Advanced API access
- Advanced CRM functionality
- Tracking pixels
- Advanced integration
- Inbound calling
- Lead distribution
- Blogging
- SaaS mode phone and text rebill (which means you’re going to be able to recharge and upsell Twilio)
- White label setup (which means that you get the app and white label support)
So those are the differences between the three plans. So choose a plan that’s right for you.
GoHighLevel Review – Setting up GoHighLevel
Now we’re going to get into the nuts and bolts of the setup.
Once you’ve signed up with my link (make sure to do this to get the BONUSES!) GoHighLevel will email you your username and password.
Once you signed up, go to app.gohighlevel.com and log in, then you’re going to see your account. It’ll be like a blank screen at this stage but don’t worry.
The first thing that you need to do is sign up for your Twilio account, which is actually what’s going to allow you to send and receive text messages and do voicemail drops, etc.
I also have a link here which gets you $10 for free preloaded into your Twilio account.
Setting up Twilio
Once you’ve created your account, log in. You’ll see your SID and on/off token to the side, click this and ‘copy’ and then go over to HighLevel.
Go to ‘Settings’, and go into Twilio. Paste your account SID in the box you see and click ‘show on/off token’ then click ‘save’.
Every new account that you create after this is going to have its own subaccount inside of Twilio.
Your SMTP service – Setting up Mailgun
Let’s say that you use Mailgun, go into your domain sending and then you’re going to add a new domain.
Make sure you type mg. followed by whatever your domain is .com.
Then you’re going to see a bunch of DNS records that you need to set up.
You have to go into your host/your domain provider, and you have to set all of these records up in the back end.
Your SMTP service – Setting up Sendinblue
If you decide you want to use a different provider, I really believe Sendinblue to be so much better in so many ways than Mailgun.
I also have a link to sign up for a free trial of Sendinblue here.
From my experience, Sendinblue has better deliverability, better customer support and a better user interface. To check out a video I did on this topic with more details, check this out.
It’s so easy to set up too!
All you have to do on Sendinblue is add a new ‘center’ and then all you have to do is verify it by a link that’s emailed to you.
When you’ve done that go into SMTP and API, get your SMTP and bring it over into HighLevel.
So ‘add a service’ then click ‘other’ and then here you just copy and paste it back and forth.
When that’s done, click ‘save’ and then it’s set up!
How to set up White Label SaaS
It’s really important that you white label this domain and it’s so easy to do.
Go to ‘agency settings’ and create a name for your white label.
Set up CNAME to point to app.msgsndr.com.
In the agency settings enter your white label domain and upload your logo and your privacy policy URL.
That’s important because if you don’t, it’s going to go to GoHighLevel.
Also, if you want to earn a recurring 40 per cent commission on everybody that you refer over to GoHighLevel go to your affiliate settings in the portal, copy your link here and start giving it out!
You only need three GoHighLevel affiliates to pay for the medium sized plan with UNLIMITED clients, so why not do that?
Now go back into your accounts, you’re not going to have any accounts here in the beginning, but when you sign up with my link, I’m going to send you a snapshot and when you click on the snapshot, you’re going to be able to load it into your account.
Then after you click the snapshot and load the snapshot (all you have to do is click the link and load it), click ‘add an account’ and then go into ‘imported snapshots’ and click on the snapshot that I sent you.
Then type in your client’s name or your agency name. It automatically finds it on the map and you can choose to bring in the address and phone number. Then click ‘save’.
If you already had an account that you wanted to load my snapshot, you would go to your accounts and click on ‘view details’, ‘actions’, ‘load snapshot’ and you can pick the snapshot.
GoHighLevel Setup Instructions!
Your GoHighLevel dashboard at this point will be pretty much a blank slate. The dashboard just shows you the pipeline, how many people are in it, how many people you close, etc.
For this part, click on ‘conversations’ in the left hand sidebar and you’ll see all the conversations and all your leads. Click on the ‘unread’ tab at the top.
The unread tab is a little confusing to me. I don’t really like it that much because it’s not super accurate, but I just always go to ‘all’ and then it allows me to see all of them.
You can text back and forth from here and send and receive emails.
At this point, you’re not going to have a Twilio so you’ll see an error message at the top of the screen. Either click resolve and it’ll take you straight to the page where you can go to ‘settings’, ‘phone numbers’.
Click ‘add number’ and the area code.
OK, now click ‘save’.
It’s going to add it into your account and then it’s going to show up in here.
In the video above I show you an account that already has a phone number.
You’ll see a ‘whisper message’ section. The whisper message is the message that you’re going to hear if you’re forwarding calls to yourself whenever someone calls you.
You can even type in a custom value such as Call from Seale Digital Account from {{contact name}} and it will tell you their name if it’s in the system.
Next, call recording, you want to make sure you turn this on if you want the calls recorded.
If you don’t type a message in the ‘call recording’ box, calls won’t record. It used to be that you could record calls and then not tell them, now it’s requiring that you do. I usually just put a space in the box and it seems to be working fine.
Then ‘call time out’ will automatically be set to 60 by default which I usually just leave as it is.
OK, and here, if you want to listen to the calls, go to ‘reporting’ on the left hand sidebar and then the ‘call reporting’. You’ll be able to see all the people who called, if the call is answered and how long the call was.
You’ll see graphs showing the average call duration, how many first time callers there were, how many calls were missed, so this is really good ammo to have if you have clients who don’t like to answer, etc.
GoHighLevel Integrations
Go back into ‘settings’ then ‘integrations’.
You want to integrate your Google account and then you want to integrate your Facebook account.
Click on ‘add an account’ and sign in with Google. You’ll see a message telling you ‘this will allow lead connector’.
Click allow and then ‘add the account’.
Do the same for Facebook.
It’s easier if you click all the checkboxes when you integrate Facebook, because I’ve seen a lot of people have problems when they try to be selective about which pages they allow. Then later on they want to add a page and they can’t do it.
OK, so go ahead and integrate Facebook and then you can also integrate Stripe.
Next you can integrate with Stripe. You can add your Stripe live and secret key or test secret keys.
You can also do cool things like integrate a two step order form. We do that when we’re onboarding clients and automate our onboarding.
If you’re interested in learning more about that we have a course dedicated to it in the Digital Agency Hacker program, it teaches you how to use GoHighLevel to fully automated agency.
If you want to map the Facebook form fields, go into Facebook, ‘field mapping’ and map the fields accordingly.
Then when you want to trigger, for example, whenever someone opts into my Facebook lead ad in the box titles ‘Which event should trigger this automation?’ select ‘Facebook’, ‘Facebook lead form submitted’. You can add more filters here if you want to.
Then under ‘What actions should we perform?’ select ‘add to campaign’ and select the relevant campaign from the drop down list. When you’re finished click ‘Activate’ in the top right.
Now whenever someone submits a leadform on Facebook, they’re going to be entered into your campaign and into the pipeline.
Campaigns are basically any actions that you want to take to connect with leads, so you can send a text message, voicemail drop them, email them, etc.
So you can do all those things whenever someone comes in from Facebook automatically. Amazing!
You can even set it to happen by time, so after four minutes and then after one hour and then after one day, for example.
As for the pipeline… I use the pipeline all the time because I love having the high level view it gives. You can drag and drop into different columns depending on what stage they’re at, e.g. if you need to follow up with them, if they called you, etc.
GoHighLevel Calendar Setup
Go into ‘settings’ and ‘team management’ and add everyone on your team that needs to be involved in this calendar.
You can give people different permissions too and even assign people their own number. Finally, you need to have Google integration done first.
You can actually add a team too. Let’s just say that I want a calendar where I’m going to provide several services. I would just pick my name and name it ‘Christine’s team’ and then go into calendars and you’ll see when you create a team, it’ll appear on the calendar.
Then click ‘new calendar’ (a bit like a new service) and fill in all the details, name, description, etc.
GoHighLevel Pipeline – Using appointment reminders
I want to show you the use case of the appointment reminders, and how to set that up so that if someone schedules an appointment with you, they get automated appointment reminders.
Under ‘appointment reminders’ you can set a reminder up by selecting ‘What event should trigger this automation’ select ‘appointment confirmed’.
Then make sure you select the relevant calendar and select to add them into the right campaign.
The campaign will send a text and an email as soon as they schedule and you can select to send these at specific intervals.
